04 GX470 O2 sensor
Had a code (don't recall the code) to replace the bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor. Per this forum, O2 bank 1 sensor 1 is the O2 sensor before the cat. converter on the passenger side. Is this correct? Reason being, after replacing that sensor and disconnecting the battery, the code came back after driving 10 miles or so. The parts store ran the code again, same bank 1 sensor 1 code. The parts guy said disconnecting the battery would not clear the code. He said the car needs to be driven 60 or so miles then it will clear. thoughts...

Bank 1 is the drivers side
Sensor 1 is before the cat
And yes disconnecting the battery will not always clear a CEL. You need to dive and over time the computer will learn the parameters IE: sensor, and will automatically turn off the light.

Like RCsGX said - drive it some more to allow the computer to learn the new part.
If it doesn't go out after 75-100 miles, take another look at it. There is a remote possibility that the replacement part was bad out of the box.
Out of curiosity - what brand O2 sensor did you put in?

wrong side I guess
glad I kept the old O2 sensor...will put it back and replace the right one...the sensor is an NTK and I got the exact fit so I wouldn't have to splice the wires...I'll let ya know how it goes!

NTK? You mean NGK?
I would look at buying a Denso next time.
