Bumper hitch bolt
Does anyone know where to get the bolts that fit under the rear bumper? I just ordered one of these and need to install it:
After spending an hour at Lowes and Home Depot I finally found the right bold diameter (12mm, 1.25 pitch), but all the ones they have are too long. The shortest they had was 35mm and it looks like I need something around 25mm. If anyone knows the OEM part number that would be ideal but I wouldn't mind an aftermarket bolt that fits.

Suggest you use grade 8.8 (or better) bolts for the hitch. Not a place to scrimp on quality. Ace does carry some grade 8.8's.
No grade markings = made from recycled K-Mart mountain bikes

Please don't tow anything heavy with that hitch, though. It's not class IV like the OEM one but probably good for accessories or a light motorcycle trailer.

I couldn't find a bumper hitch that was a direct fit. I bought a cobalt drill bit to customize this one. Like Lac im just going to use this for a cargo carrier. The lingering smell from the last time I transported fertilizer in my cabin made me decide to buy this. The one thing I miss ditching the sedan is a trunk.

There is a liability concern - if the home-made hitch breaks and you lose the trailer while at 60mph, someone could get hurt.
BTW, be sure to cross the safety chains under the tow bar when you hook them up. I saw a car carrier come off a pickup on US-183 (no chains at all!) and smash into a minivan. Not pretty.
