Default Best way to navigate through snow

I got stuck in the snow twice this year. How does one disable the traction control? It feels like if i were to get the rpms up and get some momentum, i could get through the snow. I can't understand why my throttle has no response when i punch it at the most critical time.

How deep is the snow you're trying to get through? What speeds are we talking about (parking lot crawling, city streets, or highway)? Tires are a big factor, as is momentum.

We have over 3 feet of snow sitting in the middle of my front yard right now, so I could likely give you some pointers if your more specific about what you're having issues with.

Locking the center differential disables vehicle stability control (VSC) but traction control is still active. I'm not aware of a way to disable traction control without adding a switch to manually disable it, but then you'd lose ATRAC as well, which does it's best to mimic LSD differentials front and rear, if you know how to use it (ie. let it work).

Definitely need more details about your equipment... i.e tires-tread/type (A/S, summer, etc.), wheel size, etc before we can provide valuable input. Never had any problems in my GX trudging thru ~ 27" of white stuff and then some. Suspect there is another component to your issues... That said, ice is a completely different issue all together but suspect you would have specified if that were the case.

Both times it was up to the running boards. Grass under the snow the first time and up a driveway with a slight incline the second. It just stalls and then sinks when i try to throttle up a little harder. My wrangler would plow right through like nothing. Do i need snow tires or what?

I have stock size, all season khumos that are 2yrs old with 20k miles on them. I probably should've just got those cross terrains. Had no idea an suv would be so week on marginal tires. I now know.

Tires are probably what's missing here. If you had the same tires as your Wrangler had, you'd likely plow right through like nothing.

Got to tell you, we had a blizzard Xmas two winters ago here in jersey. My mother was in he hospital about 30 miles away. Needed to go home and get sleep. Streets were not plowed, at least a foot on all roads, could not see the sides of the road...I did have vredestein xtreme trac winter tires at the time. My siblings were with me...the three of us kissed that truck when we got home. Passed a fire truck stuck in the snow. So if someone is haveing trouble...take a look at technique, tires and did you lock the diff?

abs off, vsc trac off, vsc off. I had few codes showing. Had a diff lock, first time i had been stuck on blizacs. I wish my traction control worked then, i might have been able to croll out on my own instead digging myself in.

Mine does plow through it when i have momentum. The two times i got stuck was when i was going slow because was not sure if i should continue. Eventually just sank and that's when stupid throttle wouldn't let me force my way out.
