Default GX470 Transfer Case Actuator Seal Leak

I took my car to the mechanic and they said the transfer case actuator seal is leaking and it needs to be replaced.

They quoted me $1000+. I am planning on selling my car this summer (end of August). I really don't want to spend $1k on a car I am about to get rid of- I'd rather take $1000 off the price of the car when I sell it. The car has 140k miles.

Would I be able to drive the car without getting the seal replaced for another 3 months, or will that cause major problems? I am driving approx. 40 miles per day.

Thanks!

Default Transfer case seal

There is a aftermarket seal avalable to fix that. We have installed at least a dozen and have not had any issues. Seal is under $10 and labor a couple hours
