Rust Spot on and under GX470
Fellas I have two small rust spot on the Pearly White.
They are located on the sill of the back of each window, the one with the curve that doesn't open.
I have touch up paint. Do I just touch it up or is there another method I need to use ?? And also those spots weren't there before.
Undercarriage Rust
I change the oil for the first time. When I went under there. Man the undercarriage in some part is rusty. My car is only 2 years old! Some of the screws are rusty as well.
Is there something I can use to spray underneath the car to prevent corrosion. I know the road salt may be causing this.
Thanks

Got to remove all of the rust first, but I would take it right back to Lexus and let them look at it. It should be under warranty.
Where in NJ do you live? I was looking for a GX and test drove a 04 Pearl in North Jersey. The thing had alot of rust underneath.
Spoke to a dealer friend and he pulled the carfax and the car spent all of it's time in Long Island. He said that it may have been dropping boats into the ocean and that the salt air also does alot of damamge. I ended up passing on that one and found a clean 05 in CT.
Good luck

Sigh...I hope this doesnt turn into a tundra/tacoma situation with the GX. POR15 is an amazing rust prevention product. You need to prep the area per instructions then apply.
I unfortunately have experience with rusty toyota products...When I started looking at GX's I found one in michigan that was awesome but underneath was fubard. Kept looking until I found a clean one..
What I will say is that some surface rust in salt states is completely normal.
