2005 GX with Sport Package, and CPO Question????
I’m in the market for a 05 GX 470 with the “rare” sport package. See below for details:
“The new Sport Package gives the GX 470 a distinctive visual signature, with smoked front and rear light bezels, and dark graphite finish on the 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rack. Inside, dark graphite center console and instrument panel trim complements the Black Bird's Eye Maple wood trim”
I have asked a few dealers and they have never heard of it. Has anyone seen this at a dealer? I have only seen one in Baltimore and it was sold before I could look at it.
What is a good price for an 05 with 40-50k, nav, rear dvd, great condition, and CPO?
This leads me to my next question. I’m a previous owner of a GS CPO, and was very happy with the coverage. I was told at the time that to CPO a car it costs over 2k. Is this true, and does the details of the CPO change from one dealer to another? My pervious CPO purchase included the following; new tires, rotors, breaks, floor mats, and all major fluids were changed to name the most expensive things done. Do they essentially pay Lexus for the extended warranty, and does anyone know what that cost’s them.
Thanks

The sport package that you speak of can be found on the KDSS equipped GX.
A "good price" is relative. You're looking for a more rare vehicle so expect to pay a bit more, if it's CPO'd then that will add to the price, condition of the vehicle, product availability in your market will all have a bearing. The best thing to do is shop around on-line. The listings will provide you the best indicator of the going rate for a GX in your market then add on the variables. Asking prices from market-to-market can vary greatly so you might find you can save a few bucks if you are willing expand your search area and travel.
As for CPO'ing a vehicle; the cost to CPO a vehicle depends on a lot of things. I am sure it not only varies by dealer but based on the condition of the vehicle. Remember, sometimes dealers have to replace tires, brakes, do a full detail, paint work, add a 100k warranty, plus all of the labor involved etc. $2k does not sound like an unreasonable amount.

We just bought one last night - '05 with the sport package. Not CPO unfortunately, but a great price and in great shape. Big difference on the interior is the top of the dash, steering wheel and center console are all black. We wanted a CPO, but found them all to be '06 or newer and a lot more money.
