Cigarette Lighter or front accessory plug Bypass
Has anyone figured out how to rewire the cigarette lighter or front accessory plug so it is hot all the time. At this time I think it is only hot when the key is in the "on" position. I was able to get Lexus to make this change on my 1998 LX 450, but the new dealer is not willing to do it on my GX.
I keep my phone plugged in and it won't charge during my short in and out trips around town. This was a great change on my LX and I would love to do it for my GX.
Thanks.

I've been thinking about the very same thing. The circuit for the accessory plug must have it's own fuse and it's probably under the hood. I was thinking of snipping the wire that goes to the accessory plug and putting in an on-line fuse from a direct battery source which must be close to the fuse box.
Don't know when I'll get a chance to look into it, but will let you know when I do.

That makes sense. I will see if I can locate the wire.
If you figure it out please let me know and vice versa.
Thanks

Discovered that the fuse for the Accessory 12 volt Plug is in the Fuse Box that's on the drivers side.
I've decided to have a Pro Shop do the change over. I'll keep you posted.

I installed the jumper wire in the attached link but after about a week both the cg lighter and the accessories port ceased to function. I checked the fuses and both are good does anyone know if an other inline relay may have been damaged?
