I am still taking a wait-and-see approach to those reported specs, given the HID decision made for the LX (no) and RX (yes). Regarding what the rear gate would look like...
That seems to be in line with some of the reports, and upon perusal of the JDM site, I agree, sounds the same as the prior GX, but with the added glass panel.

That Button appears to be similar to the Button on my ES 350 to open the rear deck.
Problem is, you must have the Remote in your pocket for it to work. It's a PITA.
Otherwise, you need to press on the trunk button which is situated next to the gas lid button on the instrument panel.

I know it makes it more minivan like, but having a swinging rear gate is just so dumb. Limits the loading ability especially if you're parallel parked or up against a wall. Power rear gate like the RX, open/close, you're done. If this comes with a turdy gate, it will be a big negative for me.
RX too small, GX too turdy... will make me have to look to Acura perhaps for the 3rd row.

Wow, looks pretty cool. I know the headlights will be criticized, but looks-wise it is MUCH different than the Prado front end. I like the new grille.
Headlights have a bit of influence from several Lexus models. I like how they are more horizontal, and less vertical than the 1st gen headlights. It makes the new GX look lower and wider, and not as top-heavy as the 1st-gen looks.
Anxious to see all the official pics and get official info .
So far looks like a solid improvement over the first-gen GX.

A video review I stumbled upon on youtube of the new Prado...looks like they kept the rear swing gate and just incorporated the flip up window. Can't say I'm happy about that, but at least the pop up window is an improvement from the fixed on the 1GX.

The only different is the fluctuation of the exchange rate and tariff rate.
