I think it is possible that the current GX will be changed to a unibody design like the Merc GL.
you're way ahead of yourself, lol, i was asking for the current generation GX, i think it's going to M.Y. 2014, although the '13 front end with the F-Sport treatment looks nice as hell.
I have been wondering the same thing myself. I keep kicking tires, but I really want to wait and see if they change the grill...I love the front of the LX with the spindle grill and I'm hoping they do the same with the GX. I have heard the rumor about changing to a unibody design, but I just don't see that happening...at least I hope not. The GX is really the only mid-sized SUV left that isn't a complete mall cruiser. For some reason It's so hard to get any accurate info about the GX. I guess because of the lack of popularity, but I'm hoping a little refresh is in the works for 2014.
I'm waiting for the same... almost bought 2012 but realized that I would hate the new front to appear the next year (thought it's going to be 2013). I guess now I'm waiting for 2014.

Sorry, what I meant to say was that the current 2013 GX460 might be the last we see of it.
I read something somewhere of GX400 trademarking but I can't find it.
Yes, that would be right. The 4.0 gets a lot better MPG than the 4.6.
GX400 has ready been sold in the China market, that is where I remember it from.
you sure about that? on paper V6 always gets better mpg than V8s but according to fueleconomy.com, the 4.0 V6 in 4Runner only gets 2mpg better than the 4.6 V8. i would take the V8 any day if that's the case.
I talked to the sales manager last night at my local Lexus dealer and he said next year as a 2014 model. That is probably why there is no change from the 2012 to 2013 model.

If you look around this forum that's exactly what sales managers (including mine) told people about 2013. I'm not trying to say your sales manager is wrong I just don't think they know.
