TRD Pro Wheels
#2
Once I have the money I plan on doing the TRD SEMA wheels. I think they look fantastic.
But that's gonna be after I get a bunch of other stuff done first. Gotta get sliders, Grom Vline, rear DVD for the kiddo, possibly a Gibson exhaust...
I always find myself going back and forth on upgrading wheels on any vehicle. I have a hard time justifying upgrading something that already works perfectly fine. It's round, it rolls... It's a lot of money purely for aesthetics. But I think this time I may actually go through with it once I've got the scratch.
Here's one example of a GX with the aforementioned wheels. Love it...

Those are the ones!!
i just give my girls iPads for the longer trips. Might do sliders, but my girls are 3 and 5 and use the runners to get in and out.
Might go go with HID/LED and definitely a Kenwood head to give me the apple car play.

Those Wheels are not TRD wheels rather they are the FN Wheels, Fx Pro 17x8 and are available in more color choices. I have had them for about 1 1/2 years and they are a great product. Dustin at FN wheels could help you out contact him his number is on the web site but he does not put these wheels on his site he can not keep them in stock and has some Toyota dealerships that put them on for customers..

Thanks for the info!
Do you know off hand, what other colors are available? I just looked on his web and saw colors of other rims.
Thanks again for the heads up.

TRD Wheels
The link I above to T4R forum, in my previous post has the various colors throughout the thread along with Dustin's contact info. He will also do custom colors by request for a additional price...

Dustin is seriously an awesome dude. I have FN BFD's on my truck and he really under promised and over delivered. I told him I didn't need lug nuts or center caps and he sent me them anyways. He also called to verify fittment and make sure I had the right wheel.

The FN sometimes have a lower profile/flat hub cap (like the ones you've pictured), are an inch wider, and have zero offset. The TRD wheels (sold by Toyota) have a higher profile hub cap, are an inch narrower, and have a 4mm offset. You can also see that the TRD wheels are less concave with a more flattened look on the spokes.
No doubt the FN wheels still look legit, are a bit more affordable and may even offer a performance advantage (1" of extra width?) over the TRD wheels, also Dustin sounds like a lovely fellow, but just wanted to clarify that both wheels are available options, not just FN's version.
I personally think the FN's more concave look (due to the extra width) makes them more aggressive/cool looking aesthetically.
Can anyone weigh in on what an extra inch of wheel width will actually do performance wise? I know narrower tires make the sidewalls bulge, thus offering a bit more protection to your wheels while off road. But what about everyday on-road manners?
