Default good lord, KDSS sway bar during strut install

I just changed out my front suspension with the bilstein 5100's and Moog 4runner springs (81088). The install took me 6hrs and I think it should have only taken about 3. It was a pain to get the lower control arm pushed down far enough to get the new struts into place. Besides that, I had to remove the sway bars from the arms, unless I shouldn't have done that?. And it was just about impossible to get them back in place. I've turned a wrench or two in my time and this kicked my ***. That sway bar is no joke. Just wanted to give anyone a heads up who has the KDSS system, it's not as easy as removing regular brackets and re-installing.

Interesting would you provide a little more detail. Where the sway bars keeping the control arms from dropping down far enough to install the shocks and strut even when compressed? When you say it was almost impossible to get the sways bars back on the arm can you describe a little more what the issue was and how you dealt with this. I am interested as I have KDSS and 130k miles and most likely will need to do this at some time. . Thanks

PS. If you could post in a seperate post your views on the ride quality after the conversion. Thanks again

I will post in more detail as soon as I can. For now, I wanted to share that I read up more and found an article that mention lifting/supporting the kdss drivers side with a jack. I didn't do that because I left the skid plate on and didn't realize this. I went ahead and redid the install today to move the bilsteins to the 1.75" lift instead of the .85". I was afraid to tackle it again but did it with no issues today in 2hrs instead of the 6hrs the other day.
