Default SSO rear bumper, returned

If your thinking of getting an SSO rear bumper, I want you to see this. I did not find it acceptable, you might, but their website pictures don't show this.

The bumper is made very strong and good welding. I had a few problems like the powder coat was already coming off, but I was told they would redcoat or refund the cost. I didn't get the fuel can I ordered and the hole for the CB antenna, but with need to repaint, again that could be corrected.

Where the problem came that was unacceptable to me is the fit, all their pictures show a nice fit, I had about an 1" gap between body and fender, so again, just be aware of this if you order one. For me this was a costly return for a 20% restocking fee, which I don't agree with, because none of their pictures show this gap.

Ya, bummer. I wouldn't be happy with that at all either. They have a great reputation tho, hopefully they'll make it right. Did you post this on mud?

It's on mud. I got a refund, less the 20% and shipping. I ordered it with Kevin at Endless Horizons and he has been great.

looking at their website and the other pictures out there, shows a much better fitting bumper and thought that was what I was getting, don't want this happing to someone else.

The gap might be there to allow for the rubber body mounts to have room to move. So the body doesn't hit the bumper and get bent-up.

That is peculiar..... As you stated, most people were very happy with SSO bumper and all of the pictures online show tighter fitment.

I was almost ready to pull the trigger on this bumper last month but decided to wait after finding out that MetalTech is working on the rear bumper. I was told that it should be out sometime in August (give or take a couple of months). You might want to check them out too. Thanks for sharing.

I was told that is what it is for. My problem is they don't show that gap or say anything about it on their website or in the instructions, they do show a very nice fit.

I have been talking with Metal Tech and waiting to see their rear bumper. I seen some close ups of the front one install and what I see, I like the fit.
