Default Fitting 32.1x10" Tire.

Ive pretty much settled on bring the front up 1.5" and rear .5" on my gx. Has anyone run a 255/75r17 or 255/70r18? They both measure 32.1"x10.04"

I do not want any major rubbing and Ill probably remove the running boards. I am fine with mild trimming or using a heat gun to make more room. Ill probably run these tires with an aftermarket wheel that sits out a little wider (18mm offset).

Thanks everyone.

I installed OME 884 coils in the front on the stock struts about 2.5 lift to put 255/75/17 Durtracs tricked the air bags about 1.5 in the back for a level look. I had to do some minor trimming on the front so they didn't rub. Also I ran spacers because the narrow tire looked lost in the wheel well like a old Land Rover.

Looks great and thanks for the pics. Mine is silver also so that gives me a really good idea of what it'll look like. Looks like just very minor mods are all that will be needed. I assume the MPG and ride quality wasn't too badly effected by those tires?

I run an *almost* 32 inch tire with no lift. It's all in the rim choice. I had very minor rubbing that was fixed with some trimming and a heat gun.

Was there a reason why you went with the 255/75's instead of the 265/70's? And what size spacer did you end up with?

How much did that throw your speedometer off?

Default Ome 884

I went with the 255/75/17 because they are taller than the 265/7017 plus narrower which is better for the snow in Colorado and my mileage actually improved. I used the spidertrax 1.25 spacers and the speedometer was not actually off by more than 1or 2 MPH. It rode well but it didn't flex enough for me to go on some of the more aggressive trails so I switched everything out and have 258/70/17 inch tires and use the 255's for the winter.

I would go with 285's but I just can't justify the price difference for the Grabber AT2's that I want to put on over the 265/70's. If I want a little more wheel poke, I'll just go out and get some spacers.

As it is, I've got some good recommendations as to what I need to get for my lift. I looked into some 255/75-17's but I just didnt like the fact that all the tires available for that had unfavorable reviews for snow and Ice performance. Grabbers seem to be the best (outside of dedicated snow's) followed closely by the Duratracs.

Those STT's look freaking sweet though, especially with the TRD wheels.... Probably cost a pretty penny though.

There is a significant difference between a 265/70/17 and a 285/70/17. More than just "poke". Here is a 265/70/17 stock ride height:

Here is the same tire in a 285/70/17 after a 3" lift:

If you are going with a lift I would strongly recommend the 285's.

When you did your lift did you end up changing out your UCA's? And with your 3" lift are you rubbing at all in the front?

Running stock control arms. My alignment settings are pretty much maxed out though. Caster is slightly off. This could possibly be improved with new control arms.

Yes the front does rub. I had to trim the running boards. The front of the wells were also modified slightly.
