Looking at an 08 GX470 - Question about a concern
I test drove a 2008 GX470, and the vehicle has a very well maintained interior/exterior with 123K miles. The only concern I have is while test driving it, I noticed that there seems to be a "rolling" feeling while turning and maneuvering at low speeds. Like the vehicle lumbers a bit.
I am not familiar with these vehicles but I am familiar with trucks and 4Runners. The vehicle drove more like a truck than I was expecting, even more so than the 4Runner I owned before.
Any ideas or is this normal?
Thanks.

Same thing happened to me. Its perfectly normal. This is a luxury vehicle with soft spring rates and a high center of gravity. You can adjust the shock dampening to a firmer setting if you prefer. Its the little toggle in the center console.

The other thing is that at 123K miles the shocks are probably SHOT if they have never been replaced. The air bags in the back could be bad as well. All fixable. Replace the rear air bags with springs. Shocks are easy enough as well. It should ride a lot better then the normal 4Runner.
