Default Brand new owner! Struggling with aftermarket wheel choice.

Hey everyone just purchased a GX470 and I absolutely love it. Should have switched from domestics a long time ago!

Has anyone run the 2016 4runner wheels on a GX? They kind of have a snowflake pattern if you know what I am talking about. The GX seems like a real pain to find a set of wheels that really looks good on them unlike my past vehicles.

^^^ No I am talking about the base 16" wheels. I would probably paint them a dark grey or black.

Would base 16" wheels clear GX brakes? One again, I'll picture ***** my truck. I always think the best bet is to go up in size, not down a size. In my opinion, the perfect size is an 18x9 like I (and a lot of us) have put on our trucks.

No worries dude, imitation is the best form of flattery, right? They're 18x9 FN BFD's with 0mm offset and 5" of backspace. Tires are 285/60/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers. A lot of guys use the BFG KO2's but I've had more than one conversation on Mud about balancing issues with them and potential road noise. My Nitto's balanced perfectly and function very well off road. Cooper supposedly makes a good AT tire as well but I can only speak for my Nitto's, and they've handled everything I've put them through (off road in 13 states in 2015 alone) and are smooth as silk on the highway. They do start humming over 80mph though.

Good to know. Those wheels are very reasonably priced as well. I may have to wait as my stock sized tires still have lots of life. I do have experience with both the nitto and the bfg (have a jeep and truck background), they are nearly identical from what i could tell. From what i remember the Cooper at3 is supposed to be a great tire but its heavy, really long tread life though. I really like the firestone destination a/t's on my truck. I would buy those again in a heartbeat.

Did you need to do any lift for those to fit?

No, just some minor trimming of the running boards and a heat gun on the plastic wheel well liners. About a half hours worth of work.
