Word of advice for deflating air springs...
So I just finished dismantling my air suspension on my 04, and I have ONE little piece of advice for doing it...
According to the Factory service manual, you have to use one of the SST's to detatch the air lines from the top of the air spring, and then let the pressure deflate... Well, there is not much working room up there, and I have replaced the airbags on several big General Motors SUVs for a few friends, so I decided to use the same method for mine, which is to just poke a small hole in them and let the air slowly leak out.
Well, apparently these air springs that Toyota uses are a much thinner material or something, because when i poked one with my blade, it immediately ruptured and... for lack of better words, explosively decompressed.
I was fine, but damn it was LOUD and it scared the hell out of me!
For the other spring (looks like they run independent from one another) i just took a pair of wire snips and cut the air line running to it. It let the air out nice and slow and was just a small hissing sound, as opposed to the WHOOOSH that the other one made. It'll also make it alot easier to get the airspring off of the truck , since there is little to no slack in the air lines.
I bolted on my conversion kit from metal tech, and have some springs from a wrecked 4runner V8 waiting.... I have the Isolators, new bump stops, 4runner shocks, and the little pocket to replace the interior suspension switch on order and should have them within the next few days.
Just have to do the front shocks sometime next month, and i will be set

I'm sure it's possible, but seeing as the system uses the height sensors to fill the bags, as opposed to an actual pressure reading, it sounds like more of a hassle than anything. Plus I wanted to clean up the undercarriage, so EVERYTHING related to the air suspension is gone, to include all the little stupid clips that held the lines. Looks alot cleaner without all that crap in the way
