Front noise (air plane takes off)
Hi everyone. I have a noise problem in the front area. It sounds like a air plaine taking off and landing. The sounds happen when the SUV is moving, even at rolling speed. It started with a very low noise which at first I thought might be a tire issue but about a month later it was very obvious that it isn't. (This is my wife's SUV, she just drive). I just want to narrow down some ideas before going to the mechanic.
The SUV idles and drives fine still with front oem shocks. I have not inspect the breaks or rotors yet but they are breaking just fine with no squeak. It did get a aftermarket axle shaft on the right side. The noise is about even on both side.
Any ideas would help. Thanks.

So the sound is only when the vehicle is in motion? Does the sound change with speed? I'd be looking at wheel bearings, CV shafts, etc first.

Wheel bearings occurred to me as well.
Also check the suspension components:
Jack each corner up, one at a time. All you need is a 1/2" gap under the tire. Spin the wheel and listen for noises. Grab the tire at the 3 & 9 o'clock position and rock it back and forth - there should be next to no play in it (ideally none). Grab the tire at the 12 & 6 o'clock position and rock it back and forth - there should be next to no play in it (ideally none).

A problem fan clutch can make quite a roaring sound. My F150 fan clutch roars quite often in the summer only had the GX 6 days and it is middle of winter here in KS.

I'm having the same thing, I can't pin down what it is but it's a subtle roaring sound that sounds like its coming from the engine compartment. It could be a fan clutch, or a bearing in one of the accessories.
It's my wife's car, she can't hear it, and I don't want to start shotgunning parts trying to find it. I'm probably just going to have to wait until it comes to a head.
Keep us posted.
