Dashboards to be replaced?
Looks like there may be some action by Lexus/Toyota on the cracked/melted dash issue. I saw this while reading the IS forum. Keeping my fingers crossed. Scroll down and the GX is on the list.

Yes, I just left Lexus of New Orleans and this program is being rolled out in 2 stages.
Reimbursement for those that paid for dash repairs starting next month, then replacement of all affected owners' dashboards in May 2015.

Enter your VIN at http://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home so that Lexus knows you're the new owner, and they should send you the letter as well as any other recall campaigns that your SUV needs done (in case the previous owner skipped them).
In any event, if your vehicle is in the affected range (year/VIN), you'll be covered.

Haven't been on the site for a while now.
I received the first letter but not a second, which should have been in May if I recall.
Has anyone received a second letter, or are y'all just going to your dealer directly? My local dealer isn't the easiest to deal with.

Cracked dashboard
Don't hold your breath-with 4.5 million cars on recall list-- not sure if I will live long enough. Live in Houston & service mgr. said they were receiving 5-10 a month from Lexus. Said they were replacing ES dashboards. Dashboards cost $2000 to replace so don't think anyone in hurry. Original owner of 2004RX with 40k mi. & wanting to buy new car. Today Carmax informed me if dashboard replaced value of car would be $1-$2k more. Hopefully this won't turn into legal issue but I refuse to accept diminished value in selling car. It is transferable to new owner but no idea when it will be replaced.
