Default Warranty Enhancement - Cracked Dash Replacement!

My wife received a letter in the mail today stating that Lexus is enhancing their warranty program to cover the cracked and / or sticky melting dashboard as a result of heat or humidity. Looks like it covers a variety of models, including the RX from 2004 to 2006, and the GX from 2003 to 2008.

My wife drives a 2004 RX and got her notice. However, I drive a 2004 GX and DID NOT get a notice, although the notice states that the GX is covered. May be rolling it out in waves.

It states that this is just a pre notice, and that they will be rolling out the program in the next couple of months. If you have already paid for a dash replacement, it looks like they're going to reimburse you.

Hell yeah! Thanks for posting "evidence."

Now I can chill out on staring at my dash and just drive it.

So does this warranty only apply to the original purchaser or does it extend to subsequent owners of the vehicle?

Seems you and the 14 other '09 guys are easy to forget.

Hard to believe Lexus made a change that late in the lifecycle, unless of course they knew that they'd had to...

That 10 year provision is going to be an issue with our 2004's.

Sorry about the poor picture. The glare cut it off, but right above that, it states that primary coverage is until 2017. The 10 year provision is secondary coverage after that.

Pretty sure it applies to the current owner.

After looking at the picture again I see what you are saying. What a relief! I guess the secondary coverage would apply to vehicles purchased after 2007, giving them the full 10 years.

Go to www.lexusdrivers.com and register it. Mine doesn't show any pending recalls, so I don't think it's loaded yet for our vehicles.

I just logged in and mine doesn't show it pending either.

I'm just glad to see the letter refers to cracks as well as the melting issue.
