I'm sure you could but I honestly don't think it will turn out that great. You really need to remove the trim so you can pull the material around the edges to get a tight crease free fit. On the door panels and upper dash pieces for example, at the ends they have points and it's curved. There's no way you can get it to lay and not show the wood underneath or creases without pulling the material around the edges. Removing the trim isn't hard anyway so I'd remove them if you decided to do this.

The dash trim is all help on by pressure clips. You just insert a trim removal tool behind the piece and it'll pop right off.

The navi trim just grab from the bottom tab, give it a good tug. Once the bottom clips release slowly work your way up to the top releasing the clips as you go.

The center console is held in with pressure clips as well. Once you pop it up, remove it and the transfer case trim itself is held in by a few phillips head screws.

The door panels are held in by a few screws and pressure clips too. Once you remove it the wood trim is held in by a few screws. The door panel trims are the hardest to get to but the door panels are very easy to remove. For anyone needing steps on how to remove the door panels see post #9 in the link below:

Steering wheel is mounted and new pics are on top of page 1....

The leather on the wheel is supposed to be black but compared to the interior it looks like the same dark gray color. I might dye it a dark black but I sort of like the look of it matching the leather seats and door panels. So that's it for the interior. I, m officially.......DONE!!

been watching this thread waiting for the final product. Very nice work! I think the steering wheel works well with the grey interior.

It's amazing how little $ it took to completely transform the interior. After seeing the final outcome I'm glad I didn't get the pieces hydro-dipped now.

Your GX decimates all, with overnight parts from Japan... (sorry, that was the Supra forum left in me....lol ) Seriously, your interior transformation is amazing. Well done!

You actually want us to believe that?
What about a glove compartment makeover?
Black billet cup holders?

Seriously, it looks badass!
Bet you'd get some confused looks if you took that GX in for dealer servicing.

You always have amazing mods RCsGX, i like the steering the most.
Did you swap the steering yourself ? Is it thicker than the OEM steering? Really nice work!

Nope I swear that's it.

Yes I swapped it myself. It's really easy to do and can be done in about 10-15mins. Most of that time is swapping over the parts from the OEM wheel to the new one (wheel audio control buttons, back plastic cover etc.). The new wheel is more sporty feeling and just fits my hands better than the OEM wheel did. I'm really liking it.

Yes the new wheel is thicker than the OEM wheel. It has finger indentations in the wood just like the factory wheel does. Here's some measurements I just took:

OEM
-Leather: 27.95mm
-Wood: 32.06mm
-Wood finger indentations: 31.47mm

New wheel
-Leather: 33.28mm
-Wood: 34.28mm
-Wood finger indentations: 32.97mm

Yep I'm done for now. I honestly can't think of anything else that I'd like to change on it. The only other mod I'd really like to do is get the Demello flat top bumper but there's no GX to use as a prototype so for now it's just a dream.
