My airbag light just came on last week. 
I know it has something to do with my drivers seat because for about 3 days it would come on and if I restarted my GX it wouldn't come back on until I sat in the seat. As of yesterday it won't turn off now and I even removed the negative lead to the battery and that didn't reset it either?
I removed the seat belt buckle today and removed the tape and loom from the buckle / buckle wiring and I didn't see any damaged / cut / frayed wires from the buckle all the way to under the seat where the wiring splits off into 2 harnesses.
Do you remember where the damage was in your harness? Was it closer to the buckle or under the seat?

It turned out it wasn't the belt after all. I still need to get a clockspring. If it's not that it's the front left sensor near the radiator. One of these days I'll fix it.
