You only need to replace the mirror ( which comes with the actuator ) They are not quite expensive, you could have it picked up from the dealer itself, eg:- Sewell.( CL members are offered a good discount package) The part number is 87908-60840 ( LHS ) & 87909-60730 ( RHS ) Just need a Phillips to do the job max 30mts , if you are good at tooling, otherwise Learner would take 1hr-30 mts. Here is the method attached. Hope it helps. cheers

Extremely easy to swap out the components on this vehicle. If you need a DIY let me know.

On a similar issue, might I tap into the members' experience:

The driver's side rearview mirror in my '05 GX (rather, its European LC 120 Prado reincarnation) has been physically knocked from the back fully forwards. Something must have broken completely as now the electric controls don't work and the mirror has no resistance when I manually fold and unfold it. I'm looking to buy a replacement. The mirror in my European specs car is electrically operated/heated but there are no memory position buttons.

Could someone confirm that the mirror assembly from oemlexusparts.com at http://www.partswebsite.com/oemlexus...129&type=parts is everything I'll need for a complete swap? And that it'll work in my car without the memory position switches?

Thank you very much for helping me out.

I also have a problem with the passenger mirror.

It would go up down but rather slow compare to the driver one but not left to right.
So the wiring works, is there anything else I could try before spending on a new actuator?

You can try taking it apart and cleaning & re-greasing the gears. But if you're not super mechanically adept, you might as well buy the whole part. And it might be the motor, not the gears.
