Tire Thieves
There are some tire thieves in the city I live in that have been stealing tires from cars parked in their driveways. I am lucky to have space in my garage to park my car, but sometimes I have a weekend project that takes me a weekend to complete where I am using up that garage floor space and park my GX in the driveway….which I won’t be doing anymore.
The thieves take out the flood lights a night or 2 before stealing the tires. A vehicle drops their friends off, circles around the neighborhood, and when they come back around, they pick their friends up and load the newly stolen tires.
I have one of those “lug-nut” wheel locky things. (I know, I don’t have the proper lingo.)
My questions are:
1. Does this little “lug-nut key” help prevent MY tires from being taken?
2. Would the lug-nut key work on any GX470 or is it special for my car only? I doubt it is the later, but still hopeful.
3. Any recommendations on how to protect tires from being stolen if you don’t have a garage?
Thank you.

Additionally, I've been told that those lug-nut keys are not "universal." There may be 20-30 different patterns out there for Lexus lug nuts. So even if the thieves did happen to have a "Lexus" lug-nut key, chances are slim that it would mate with your lug nuts.
If possible, you may want to park your truck right next to a wall, bushes, or other obstacle. If the thieves can't easily access all four rims, hopefully they would just move on.

Tires = wheels (metal and rubber)?
Depends on good the thieves are. Good thieves either have a butterfly nut (locking lug) or will hammer a socket over it to get it off that way.
Bad thieves won't. Maybe get some McGards?
