Just wanted to say hello to everyone since this is my first post here on the Lexus Forums. Hello!

I have been reading through the forums to figure out how to type an address in the navi while the car is in motion. I only want the temp. fix since I only need it with the family on those long trips.

Has anyone gotten the override to work on a 2004 GX470 utilizing v6.1?

I have tried:

1. taping DVD or Volume, upper left, lower left
2. taping DVD or Volume, (upper left, lower left)x2
3. taping DVD or Volume, (upper left, lower left)x3

I have tried these options sitting at a light. I have tried these options parked in my driveway, yet to no prevail.... nada!

look into getting a lockpick. use the forum search

I looked into getting the lockpick, however, according to their application guide they don't have one available for the 04 model.

Thanks. Not sure if there is a way to override the ver6.1. For the time being, I am using my cell phone (I have the Samsung Memoir) as my GPS to get me directions while moving. Small screen, but better than nothing.

I have decided to not waste any more money on upgrading the navigation system in my Lexus. For a lot less money and functionality, I can use my NUVI (which I can move from car to car) or my cell phone like I had to this past weekend.

The GPS on my Lexus gets me lost anyway about 20% of the time. I live in an area that is constantly changing and the navigation can't keep up with it. Even after I had just renewed/upgraded it.

Pity!
