Just wanted to check with folks in the forum to see if anyone else has a somewhat noisy power steering pump. I have an '05 GX and when turning to the right, the PS pump will make a whining noise - but not the same as if it were low on fluid, it also has kind of a squeak going on too (very difficult to describe the actual sound). However, it is perfectly quiet turning to the left.

The dealer has looked at it (and heard the sound) on 2 occasions and has claimed to check it against a GX they had on the lot. They say that is the normal sound the PS pump makes when turning right.

Doesn't sound quite correct to me, why just to the right and not to the left? And with Lexus being such perfectionists on noise, this would be an obvious one to remove if it were 'normal'.

So just checking to see if anyone else has a loud whine/squeak when turning right.
