Makes me wonder what the previous owner did to the truck. Did you get a warranty with it ?? If it was me, I would complain to the seller.

Seems like they would have some type of procedures that would have prevented this (like the consumer Diesel nozzles that won't fit into the vehicles gas tank)? Maybe it was actually a mix up at the refinery where the fuel gets loaded into the tanker? Either way, sounds like it's easily repairable (plugs, etc) and that's GOOD news!
Kind of like using too much Marvalous Mistery oil

Cool Conclusion

Yes it had a 30-day warranty from the dealership and it still has the remainder of the standard 4yr/50k..

I'm sure all you guys are on the edge of your seat wondering how our sick GX finished up the day... well $612 later it now has all new plugs, gas drained, injectors cleaned out, etc.

She runs perfectly once again.. probably better than ever.... Filled up the tank all the way full with Premium from a different gas station on the way home.

Stopped by the same gas station to get the paperwork to file a claim with their insurance, they had quite a stack of them sitting there by the cashier waiting to hand them out.. Let's hope they follow-through as promised and send a check to reimburse for the damage.

I came home to see the stained black spots on the garage floor where the unburned material was flying out of the exhaust this morning. What a day....

Not as odd or uncommon as you may think. A good friend of mine manages the "Fuels Section" at a regulatory agency here in California. I told him about this and he said that just the other week his section had to issue a fine for the same thing. He said it happens more than you think. figures...... I just hope I never see it! Best of luck with the repairs, etc. I wouldn't think it would have caused any internal damage....but if it did, CITGO would be on the hook for it. Tim
