Default Impressed w/Gas Mileage

Today I towed our 5,500 lb boat on a 70 mile expressway journey. I averaged 14.4 mpg while maintaining 62-65 mph. Our '97 Expedition never got more than 11 while towing. On the return trip without the boat, I averaged 19 mpg, this time at 75 mph with the A/C on. I think I would maybe have broken the 20 mpg mark, had I not been in stop and go traffic for about 15 minutes. Around town, my wife normally averages somewhere in the 15 mpg range. I'm pretty happy with these figures.

Default I am happy with GX mpg

I get 16 mpg around the city which is really good for a SUV weighing 6000lbs. My Acura MDX with a 6 cylinder would only get 15mpg.

Yeah, I average about the same. It is a huge engine but it doesn;t eat all that much.

However, I am addicted to the growl when I push the accelerator really hard. It is so satisfying! The only problem with this is it kills gas milage.
