Default Buying a 2004 GX470 - how does this sound?

A dealer just got back to me with a quote on an 04 GX with all of the options and colors (rear entertainment system, mark levinson, etc..) I want, and it is currently in stock. An it's a 9700E.

He offered $47,611 + Tax & License.

Is this a good deal? Does anyone know if I can avoid this tax by heading to Vegas (I don't know what the tax would be here in Orange County, but I'm assuming it would be higher than in Vegas).

Looks like a good deal. Not sure about the tax.

Looks like the truck comes out to $51775 out the door. ($3689 sales tax + $375 registration + $100 in various license fees.)

Anyone know if there's a way around the sales tax? (like purchasing across state lines, maybe)

That's a very good price. I have been looking around in PA, but no one came closed to that price. If it is a PA dealer, please let me know. Thx!

I'm in PA now, but the quote is from a dealer in Orange County, CA where I plan to move in a few months.

Default Dont come to Vegas

Dont come here there is only one Lexus dealership in Las Vegas and they rip people off all the time. They charge MSRP no matter what for the GX right now. That price is awesome compared to what they are charging here in Las Vegas. I would definitely buy it at that price.

Yeah, we thought we might buy one while we visit our friends in Henderson, but its sounding like the deal in orange county is pretty good. Thanks for the heads up.

Default People here usually go to LA

People in Las Vegas usually go to LA to get good car deals or to Pheonix Az. I hate the fact that there is only one Lexus dealership here.

You cannot avoid sales tax by buying out of state anyway. You'd get charged the sales tax when you try to register it at the DMV. Also, Orange County tax is only 7.75%, not too bad. Unlike Los Angeles county which is 8.25%. And California has a new lowered license fee also. Don't worry about, you are in good shape.
