2nd Gen GS Owner thinking about getting a 3rd Gen
I currently own a 2003 GS430 with 150k on it. Love the car and has been problem free for the 10 years I have owned it. Getting the itch for a new car and tired of RWD in the winter.
Looking into a 2010 - 2012 GS350 AWD or a 2010 - 2012 Acura RL.
Any opinions on either of these two cars - wasn't sure if any of you have experience with the RL. I am getting ready to start doing some test driving.
Very general post but curious of this forums opinions.
Thanks

If you're not crazy about modifying cars, then you should be okay.
The GS AWD system wobbles when being lowered or modified in any way.
I've even come across some members having wobble on factory suspension also.
Either way, GL on your search after your test drives!

I recommend going straight to the 4gs if you can. If you want advice on the Rl's go to acurazine.com forum. I have posted all over there because I was going to pick up a 2014 RLX advanced today and it was sold out from under me. I had cash in the pocket headed 200 miles and someone flew from Chicago, IL to ARK to get it.

They aren't bad cars...probably just as many issues as the 3GS...but get what makes you happy...otherwise you will regret it. The 3GS is not as reliable as the 2GS...and im sure the trend will continue on a downward slope.

Id rather spring for the 2015 genesis sedan. Those are really nice for the price. Im thinking they will drop in price in a year or two so might be worth a wait.
The 2012 to 2013 genesis sedans can be had for pretty good prices now.

Don't buy a 3gs that has any kind of engine recall if you want to go that away. I have no idea which ones do but it isn't just the 300 awd's I think. And you are saying that the downward trend? so 4gs is going to be less reliable then the 3gs? The newer the car the worse it is going to be? I drove a 5.0 2015 Genesis, a lot of power but the car felt bigger. I didn't like that and like other people I can't get over the badge and I think it should be 10K less then what they are selling. I think it is around $52K or so

I think the 2015 Genesis is a dang nice car. Great thing about those...if you let someone else lease one for a year or two first...you'll be able to pick those up with 24-30k miles for cheap, compared to other cars with similar equipment and similar MSRP's. From a reliability standpoint...the Hyundai's have come a long way. Pretty cheap to keep on the road and the full size Genesis has been a nice car for several years now. Love the new body style. Definitely buy it used though. To buy new would be pissing good money away.
