Question Did these oem rims come in this color?

Hello,

As the title states did these OEM 18 inch fan 5 spoke wheels come in this color? They are gunmetal colored with some shine to it. I know they came in silver and chrome but I never seen them in gunmetal color. I can tell they were painted, but I guess I am trying to figure out if there was an option for gunmetal OEM. I am going to have them powder coated and I want to go with 2014 GS F sport gunmetal rim color, I am just a bit worried it will be too dark for my silver car.

Probably not, but I wouldn't know for sure. They look sweet though, those are the hybrid rims right?

Why dont you just paint them yourself since you already have them dismounted? I've done it before and it came out perfect. A lot of its in the prep work. Sand, prep, prime then spray.

No those are not the hybrid rims, they come stock on most RWD GS models. Me painting my self would not come out as good, you need a professional paint booth and I was to get them powder coated which from my research last as good as oem paint.

Those were the rims made for the GS460 and also for the RWD GS350's from 2008+ (I believe). As far as gunmetal, I've seen these particular rims in a dark grey color (probably the gunmetal finish you speak of) and chrome. Since it seems you live in NY, if you're in the Brooklyn area, and don't have a shop yet to do the rim painting, there is a shop in Sunset Park called Quiksilver on 3rd ave and 27th street that does really good work. My friend got his 18" M35 rims painted shiny black and had whatever curb rash and dents taken out for about $500 for all 4 rims.

Good luck and post pics once you put them on after it's all said and one!

I found a reputable shop in Staten Island, called Espos powder coating he does phenomenal work by his reviews and pictures. I dropped them of and selected a dark gray color we will see how it turns out defiantly will update as I get them installed. As for now my car slid with this heavy snow we had yesterday and I have a piece of my rim missing . I feel like the car felt that I was getting new rims.

its a big leak to about 20 psi and then it stops. Owner of the shop was like "ouch I never seen a rim this bad let me take a picture". Sucks because I was going to sell a whole set of my old rims, but now seems like I am going to sell them 1 at a time.

Out with the old

in with the new

They are darker at night, and brighter in the sun with some sparkles in them. Pictures don't do them justice.I had these done in Espo's Powder Coating located in Staten Island NY, Awesome guy wen't the extra step to get my wheels straighten out as the seller that sold me this set stated they were all straight. Work came out fabulous, highly suggest him for all your powder coatings. He can be found on facebook, very reputable shop, takes pride in all of his work.

they look sharp. So these were powder-coated, not painted..correct? How much did it cost...I'm thinking about doing the same thing...but a lighter gun metal color.

They look awesome! Even better on a silver GS. Now you got me thinking to to go with these rims for my 350 instead of the '06 430 rim style. lol

I always loved these rims vs 430 rims, I have 3 wheels for sale in classifieds and you can get the 4th on ebay. If you are close in NYC you can go to the same powder coating place I went to
