Default Updated my interior a little

Hey guys, just wanted to show you a little mod I did to my interior to update the electronics a little.

I removed the cigarette lighter in the front ashtray and replaced it with a dual USB port.

Looks like this.

Looks nice and neat I think

Everything closed

This is with both cords plugged in.

As you can see I am using the mount that uses the CD drive. My phone is a Galaxy Note 4 so it's very large.

The second cord is the AUX cord which I routed under the console into the ash tray as it was annoying me having my phone in the center console. I am waiting on a Bluetooth adapter to arrive to remove this cord as well.

Anyway hope you like it, sorry I didn't take install pics, I didn't think I was going to put it online.

Thanks

I use http://www.bestbuy.com/site/griffin-...&skuId=1207248 for charging, does not requite modding and for the cell phone mount i use http://www.mountek.com/shop/categori...-and-phablets/. For bluetooth audio capability I use http://www.vaistech.com/site/sl3b.php.

That's a beautiful mod. Clean job too!

If you don't mind, where did you get the USB plug in? Also, how did you wire it up? Just from the power and ground going to the 12v?

Thanks for your input. You've inspired me to clean up my interior.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I got the CD mount from eBay. I was going to get the genuine Mountek CD mount but living in Australia sometimes we don't get things as cheap as you guys, that mount was $100 shipped to me. So I went for this one http://goo.gl/ntgv6S for $11 delivered I couldn't really pass it up.

The USB charger is this one http://goo.gl/oonkBP I needed to make the hole where the cigarette lighter came out slightly larger and then just cut the terminals off the base of the ligher and put clips on them. Then plugged it in.

I was also looking at the Vaistech item, once again living down under we pay more for stuff, so this option was $399 for me to get. So on thursday http://goo.gl/8aW6c3 this arrived which just sits in my center console and works perfectly for my needs. There is no track display or anything like that, but having my phone mounted where it is I didn't need any of that.

If you have anymore questions guys just ask.

thanks
