Can you post a picture of it being off and the mounting location of the strip. Also how it is attached.

not just the trunk, the whole car is in need of more lights. The cabin is dim as hell too, and you have to carry around a flashlight to find the damn buttons.
They skimped on the LEDs.
I hooked mine to the existing light switch. Like 1jz68u, I wanted to have the ability to turn off the lights easily if I wanted to.

"Off" would essentially look like your trunk right now. My strip is basically in the middle of the trunk, it was attached using the original double sided tape that came with the strip light; but it didn't stick very well to the carpet so I temporarily used some gorilla tape cut into little strips. I'm not going to post any pics right now because the tape makes it look really ghetto. I will probably end up buying some clips and screwing it into the cardboard behind the carpet.

Just google search LED strip clip. I've seen them for sale on Amazon and Ebay, although I'm sure most places that sell the LED's might have clips available for sale as well.

I just used a staple gun and stapled it to the lining. It doesnt weigh much so shouldn't fall down.
