08 gs350 front brake noise need help???
Hi, All,
Lately I changed my front brake rotor and the new brake pad.
However, When I doing back forward with applying light brake. I can hear "gara gara" noise from the front brake. Sounds like two steel material hiting each other.
Also, there is a different noise comes out when I releasing the brake after local stop. (red light stop or stop sign).
I ask the mechanic when I doing the oil change. He checked and said my brake just are fine.
Probably it needs time for the pad break down with the new rotor.
I used the Posi ceramic brake pads with the come with shim.
Anybody know whY?

Maybe the dust plate behind the rotor is pressed against the back of the rotor? When I had my front brakes changed (rotors & pads) the mechanic must have shifted this part and it was rubbing against the rotor while driving, making a slight grinding metal noise. Have your mechanic specifically check this.

Oh man another brake noise thread, sadly our gs's are possessed with squealing, i am actually having squealing with my new Posi Quiet semi metallic pads only when driving and applying light pressure on the brake pad. I put it new oem rotors, reused OEM shims with lube on them. No idea what is going on, but I have to find time and take a good look at it. For your specific issue, it can be the caliper hardware that is loose, like that spring and the metal that goes through the caliper to hold the pad in place.

However, ppl will think it's weird when you driving the GS350 with squeling noise. Even a Toyota camery doesn't have this issue.
Sigh.

brake noise is so annoning. There is a 07 GS350 parking on our street. I heard it has the squealing evertime when he start to move the car in the morning. So I think it's a command problem with the 3rd GS.
