transmission hard
hi every one so i have a 2006 GS RWD the transmission started acting weird 4 month ago went to many workshops and no codes were found in the computer and my problem is that when i am moving in the car for more than half an hour and stop the car seems hard and jerking while shifting to 2nd gear and if i put it in tiptronic it go to 5th gear immediately it seems ok when the transmission is cold so what do you think it has got 125000 miles on it and what is the normal tempreture for the transmission so i can test it with mini vci

Get is done ASAP because it might already be too late.

i already did the transmission flush with the filter 1 month or less but it didn't help
do you know how much must the transmission temperature be when it gets to its operating temperature maybe it is overheating

The D light on the cluster flashes to let you know when the temp is right...you have to follow certain procedures and in a certain amount of time....if not you have to let it cool and start over...
And there is a chance that the 3 months of problems before you did the change was too long to wait and you just have internal damage now.
If the transmission overheats during normal operation I believe you will get a message and alert on the cluster.

I doubt that's the problem. You said you had the filter changed. Around 30 you should be in optimum operating temp for the transmission. You can try it and see...could be a problem with the valve body or solenoids....

Ecm/Ecu The engine control module is not working properly it needs to be reflashed. It causes the shifting solenoids to misfire. Contact SIA electronics in Indiana.. miss shifting it shifts then jolts really hard prior to stopping...

The problem can be solved by ordering the new improved ECU from Lexus parts department. Don't buy from SIA or any of those companies. I was quoted $1,900.00 Its not the Solenoids its the ECU. They have a service bulletin for the issues which maybe covered under an extended warranty.

I have a 2008 Ls460 that is having shifting issues also.
Seems to shift through all gears if starting out from a cool engine and transmission for example at the start of the day.
If already heated up and turned off for any reason and then cranked then it seems to hang at 5th gear.
For example if I were to start out in a trip from a cold start it would shift properly. But if I drove the car long enough for it to heat up and turned it off then back on and drove again while it was heated then it would not go past 5th gear.
This may not be true each and every time. I haven’t logged it and can’t say for sure that this is happening every time but it seems this is how it’s working out.
Took it to a Toyota dealer and was told they showed a wiring issue on a harness near the intake manifold and that might be the cause.
I’m thinking that possibly it could be wiring related if the heat could be causing intermittent opening of a bad wire etc or maybe the ecu(?) computer going bad that I’ve read about here in this thread.
any ideas as to whether it could be a exchange with a transmission module or ecu?
