S/T Lock car won't start
Hello Club Lexus,
I have been searching through past threads in hopes of searching for an answer but no luck yet. I have a 2007 GS 350 AWD and when I got into the car yesterday the car wouldn't start. It won't even turn on to turn on the radio or roll down windows. The steering wheel and brakes are stiff and the last message I saw was S/T Lock on the dash. I thought it was the battery since sometimes when leaving the lights on auto mode they don't turn off which I thought killed the battery. I bought a brand new battery after trying to recharge the "dead" one and even with the new battery nothing happens. Just now after hitting the unlock button a bunch of times I tried starting it and the ignition button turned green a load up screen came up but still wouldn't start. Now it's back to doing nothing with the steering wheel and brakes stiff with no green ignition light.
Any one have any clue what maybe happening or have a solution? Greatly appreciate your help!

Did some more research and came across this thread, good news is there might be an easy fix: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...e-failure.html
"peteyx:
I found the answer on the British Lexus site. If anyone experiences the no-start issue, try moving the steering wheel side to side. The steering column lock pin tends to get pinched and won't allow the ignition switch to turn."

Appreciate all help. From what I have read a dead alternator will not affect a car starting especially with a brand new battery. I will try to move the steering wheel around while starting the car and also recheck all my lines to the battery. Security light blinks, head lights turn on, spot light works....all the little things do function but I cannot get the car to start or even the green ignition light to light up.

Not sure what I did but I rechecked the connections and tightened the clamps on and that seemed to do the trick. The car started up without a problem.....thanks for the help but I'm sure it was just a silly user install error.
