KJSmitty... you were bang on about piston slap, confirmed by lexus alongside a big bill to cure it...

Guys had to return the car to dealer I purchased from (fortunately) as even getting the works done privately from local garage would cost a bit, what a shame, it was a nice car indeed but it being my first lexus i'm just put off with this and scared to try another...

Lexus did confirm that it's most common on the rx350s and gs350 in the states, the service tech had only heard of a couple of reports from gs300s

May just got back to the 5 series...
