Quick shot of mine from the weekend after 1 of the 3 coats of 3M. Also used Poorboy's Black Hole on the whole car (got too lazy to use the light polishing compound first).

I ended up using Maguires ultimate wax paste, and Damn I didn't know what the hell I was doing, got all that wax in the cracks and crannys! I only got Maguires because I got it brand new in the box got 5 bucks! Can't pass that up. Next time I will Def get the 3M wax. Again I'm a rookie when it comes to the whole car maintenance, so please be gentle to this question I'm gonna ask. What and why do you need to polish before waxing?

Ps. YOUR WHIP LOOKS VERY VERY NICE, GOOD JOB!

Any protection is better than none! And yeah, I always go very light with each coat, and do light little swirls by the cracks, that way it won't get all junked up.

As for the polishing, it will remove a fair amount of swirls you see in the sun, as well as other minor imperfections. Once you do that, you cover and protect it with the wax/sealant.
