Extended warranty is it worth it?
My GS350 factory warranty will expired on March 29th 2015 and I do have dashboard rattling on going issue.
Lexus dealer quoted me $2,650 for 3 more years or 100,00 miles with no deductible.
Does any member have extended warranty and how much do u pay and what kinda package do u have?
How do we negotiate the warranty price and how much should we pay for that package?

Of course..the real answer to your "is it worth it?" question is obviously based on what you ultimately have to PAY for the coverage....and if you ever have to USE it. A crystal ball certainly helps in these type of decisions!! It also greatly depends on one's financial situation. If you are disciplined financially and have an emergency fund (as we all SHOULD)...then it may make more sense to throw the $2300 into that account just in case, rather than to buy a vehicle service contract. That way...IF you have issues...you have $2300 to use. If you DON'T really have any issues....then you're $2300 ahead of the game. If you're the type of person that lives on a tight budget with not much discretionary income available...then VSC is much more important.

In 2011, I purchased an 8yr/75k mile Lexus Platinum warranty for $1450. from a dealer in Kansas one month priior to the factory warranty expiring. The best deal I could get locally was $1800. Toyota has since forbidden dealers from selling warranties out of state (however, if one is passing through a state with a killer price and visits the dealer, it's supposedly OK to purchase the warranty there). Road trip!
Since I purchased the warranty, the car's sound system, sunroof motor, tensioner pulley and water pump needed replacement, thereby making the warranty purchase price a bargain by comparison.
OTOH, my wife's '10 RX has been trouble-free.
Bottom line - it's a crapshoot, If purchasing an extended warranty, research is your best friend.

I waiting for this car to suddenly need a bunch of things fixed. So far I've only had to suffer rattles and recalls.
I have just under 50000 miles on it.

So, I didn't realize that my CPO warranty expired in 2013 ('08 GS350, 67K miles). I checked with my local dealer and they only offered me a 3rd party warranty through "Century" for $2795. There's a $50 deductible per visit (although I need to double check this). It's a 3yr, 36K mile warranty from date of warranty purchase.
Anyone heard of this warranty company? Any other recommendations?
Thanks

I'd shop around. At that price I'm shocked they even have a deductible (if any). Frustrating story: my parents got an extended warranty from a 3rd party vendor on their '05 Accord. The struts on the front-end needed replacing along with axles due to lovely NYC roads. When making a claim to get repair work done, the company refused the claim stating that the parts were "under normal mileage for wear." If there were ever a time for wanting to rip through a phone to smack sense into the other person, this was that moment. For them it was money thrown down the drain as this was the only claim and it was towards the last 2 months of the warranty coverage. womp, womp

I would stay away from 3rd party warranty
I have a friend that own a Lexus and he bought the warranty from a 3rd party
one day his car broke down and he made a claim but they put him thru hell and didnt even pay half of the charge from dealer. I believe it will be a hassle to file a claim for u

I wouldn't go for 3rd party extended warranties. From seeing personal family members buy from the bank, from the dealer (MB & BMW, only a select few in my fam drive Lexus), they've all been bad news. It's like cell phone insurance. For $2500+ you get peace of mind, but when something happens you pay "deductibles".
I know it's cheaper, but $50 for every visit and 50% of the invoice on service (sometimes with parts) is the one time I don't find it worth it IMO.
GL!
