Lexus repair policies, diagnostic, unused parts?
What is the policy on this at Lexus dealerships.
At BMW they waive the diagnostic and only charge you for the final repair of the car if they try other things in between.
Lexus is still charging a diagnostic $350, for a solenoid replacement+labor $1000, and now for a new transmission+labor $4300.... Basically The $1000 for the middle was useless and I won't receive part now that the transmission is being replaced.
Is that standard practice?

I would grill them for it. Talk to service advisor, then have service advisor talk to manager, and demand them credit you the $1k or else you'll take your business elsewhere. If you still aren't satisfied, talk to corporate Lexus and give them details on your situation, you shouldn't pay anything our of pocket like that (it's ridiculous).
