07 GS Transmission Issues / Replacement Question
Recently got hit with the Check VSC light and took the car in. I am at 103k miles.
Turns out that it was due to something with my transmission the service rep tells me. I was then told .... (these are vague notes from the guy and I am going up there to speak to the mechanic to get better details)
On the drivers side of my transmission there is a rusty bolt and a seal there. Something about that connecting to a shaft in my transmission. If they replace the seal , it won't seal the same again and the only way to fix it is a new transmission ($4500).
Anyone have any more info on this before I go up there and speak to the mechanic and get the exact details. One thing that bothers me is if this is leak/seal related I brought the car in before my 100k warranty expired and was told I had a small leak but it was common and wasn't leaking anything major so to not worry. Now a few months later I need a new transmission when I am out of warranty ? Just want to make sure I am not getting the run around

hoping not the same problem
I have a 2006 with nearly identical miles. Have you come a solution on your problem. I haven't taken mine in yet for repair. I had looked on here before and some said just to disconnect the battery and it could possibly disappear. It went away for nearly a month and it just came back today. If it comes to me replacing the tranny I would more than likely get rid of the car.
