Intro - '06 GS300 AWD in StL
Hi - bought my GS over the weekend and LOVE this car. It's a 2006 GS300 AWD with I believe every option but radar cruise. Has Mark Levinson, nav, front & rear park assist, moonroof, a/c seats, rear spoiler, power rear shade, etc.
It's dark gray, I guess the technical name is Flint Mica metallic. Unreal factory paint quality - slicker and shinier than our brand new black Prius.
One owner, clean CarFax, came in on trade to local Lexus dealer. 100k miles, however nicer and cleaner than others I looked at with 60k-80k.
They wanted $19k, I paid $17k. Came with both original keys (or keylesses, I guess...) and the most massive owners manual set I've ever seen. Tools are all there as is the first aid kit, never opened. Also has a really nice newish set of Michelins.
Most of the ones I looked at had the cherry looking wood inside, which I like, but my wife hates wood in cars so kind of a bonus mine has the "graywashed" looking wood. It's growing on me and she likes it.
I really wanted a RWD but they are impossible to find here in the Midwest apparently. Almost bought a pearl white one out of TX, but saved the several hundred $$$ on shipping when I found this one, plus that one didn't have ML or nav. Did have sweet black chrome 20s though
Also nearly bought a 2007 GS350 AWD from another dealer, but it was Mercury (silver) and I prefer darker colors. Walked when we were only $700 apart on that one, but it also didn't have ML audio and honestly I wasn't impressed at all with the stock stereo, and I thought going in that 10 speakers would be enough LOL. I looked at (or tried to look at) several locally, mostly 350s, but they were either "just sold" or did not have the ML option. In fact I couldn't even find a ML to listen to until I found this one, and it blew me away. I had Nak in my SC400, THX in my Navigator and JBL and Bose in various other cars and I think this is the best I've heard.
Normally I'd be one to go for the most powerful engine, and I love how the early 350s have more HP than the V8, but when I drove the 300 right after the 350 I really didn't feel let down by the power. I guess flooring it I could tell a difference, but really how much time do you spend driving it ***** to the wall?? And I've read 0-60 times in the 6's so that's more than acceptable - or maybe I'm just getting old hehe.
So I can't post pics til after 30 days? Is that the deal?

But yes I'm sure the AWD sits a half inch or so higher than RWD.

Congratulations, where did you pick it up from? I would say that you got a good deal also, that is the same car I purchased in the same area. Must be a popular color/option package there, only difference is I picked mine up in 2011 with 41k on it( bigger price tag too, was still good for CPO). Any nearterm goals we should expect to see?
