So what happened? I might change mine too. What type of fluid? How many quarts?
Only thing needed is the trans filter, or what else?

I agree with you. Need to ask if you have changed your mind about doing it yourself, or even all together? Would have been a very interesting post with pics.

Filter and gasket.

For fluid, stick with Toyota WS ATF or BG Product's ATF - there's an additive in the link above which may be endorsed or suitable, you'd need to enquire to find out for sure.

What about Toyota T-IV ATF?

Nope - World Standard only or another brand which meets that standard.
T-IV will likely have different properties (viscosities, chemistry, etc) for different metals in certain boxes.

And found out there is no need to change the fuel filter, it`s lifetime.

I am about to do it, so the filter is outside and easy access?

And how many quarts it uses, cause the dealer told me only something like 6 quarts.

With those questions solved, then it is pay time LOL

Just put back what you drain out and empty from the pan upon removal.

Performed Repair
Fill Amount

Transmission oil pan and drain plug removal
1.4 liters (1.48 US qts, 1.23 Imp. qts)

Transmission valve body removal
3.5 liters (3.70 US qts, 3.08 Imp. qts)

Torque converter removal
4.7 liters (4.97 US qts, 4.14 Imp. qts)

advice from me lexus tech BECAREFUL DOING TRANSMISSION SERVICES.TO PROPERLY TEST YOUR OIL LEVEL YOUR CAR MUST BE AT 115* DEGREES AND PULL THE CHECK TUBE FROM UNDER THE OIL PAN. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A TEMP GUAGE IT MUST BE DONE BY THE TRANMISSION ECU. IF YOU HAVE IT IMPROPERLY FILLED IT WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TRANSMISSION DAMAGE.

this write up better be good.

Which procedures have to be done to replace the filter?

Only remove the trans pan?

Do you have to remove the valve body to access the filter?

I researched this back when my car had 60,000 miles on it and I found exactly what is quoted here. That's when I decided to have the dealer do it. With 170,000 miles on my 2007 GS350, I will have the dealer perform its third transmission flush at 180,000. The transmission shifts so smooth after its done.
