Is this normal for an 07 gs350?
I recently got this car . It is a great car and everything but I did notice most of the time the rpm while in drive is around 6-650 but sometimes it goes quite low to around 500rpm. This doesn't seem normal to me. Can anyone confirm this?

No, the engine doesn't know whether it's connected to a 4WD or 2WD system.
If it's idling at that level, check your oil level IMMEDIATELY!
After that, you need to check MAF, air filter, and butterfly throttle body.
Sounds like a good clean might be needed if it's not compensating for low oil level (increased friction) including the EGR.
BG Products Induction Service could be the solution.

If the oil is low, and has been depleting for a while, then as there's less, it'll oxidise more quickly and could thicken - acting more like a 40w oil.
I imagine it's not the oil, but there's no harm in making absolutely sure, unless the member religiously checks the level weekly/fortnightly, depending on mileage driven.
If he's not been monitoring his oil level, then making him consider doing so as a matter of urgency is no bad thing, and may help fuel economy at least, if it is in need of topping up.
Warmed fully, the engine should be sitting between 550 and 650 rpm depending on oil and AF ratio due to altitude and/or state of MAF/air filter/injector cleanliness.
