In a serious accident, I'm not sure how well they would hold up, the Ford in particular. However the Ford did get rear ended in traffic, 89-91ish Accord hit it, and got smashed up badly. Ford got a small scuff on the back bumper

Guys it is actually safer that the car crushes in an accident. They are designed this way so the car crushes instead of your body taking the force of the impact.

That being said I'd rather they be a little more selective in the force required to crush, fender benders don't need to be fender crushers.

I've heard of a 58-59 in Staten Island I think.
Oyster Bay car show 2-3 weeks ago. Tan Color. Its a very unusual car, very hard to restore and find parts. After market support for Lincolns is almost non existent, trust me I know. I had hard times finding parts OEM for my 98 LSC, my 92 LSC is also hard enough. 73 didnt need much but I can imagine thats no picnic either.

With that said, I love Lincolns. I just fully detailed my 92 LSC yesterday and it looks amazing. I love that car so much I will never part with it. EVER.

On a wish list in near future i hope is to get a 77-78 Town car with a 460. Or a 72-73 or 77-79 Mark V. 86-89 Town car but only if its in great condition.

I really dont care for newer cars, and those I do care for I can not afford. S63, B7, Maserati and such. Not yet at least. Which is why I love my 430. 1st generation GS aged very well, car looks amazing even today, 2nd gen looked silly then and now in my opinion, 3rd one I think will age well as well, its a graceful design. Same can be said about any year Jaguar, not considering S type.

As far as the accident debate... You can not dispute that a 6000 lb car will put a dent in any moder car and then some, but new cars have awesome safety features that are not always visible to a naked eye., so its hard to tell.
