I have to firmly disagree. The 2JZ is perhaps the best engine that Toyota has ever built in a production vehicle. It has the most aftermarket support too. I'd take one over a 3UZ any day.
So has the UZ-series engines, it's been their leading V8 performer for years now too! I dunno, I guess it's the fact that I like the higher TQ curves hehehe. Both engines are great don't get me wrong, but how often do you hear a 3uz being built vs a 2jz being built?

Then why did the owner put a 3UZ in his supra instead of a 2jz? LOL, I'm not 100% sure but i think they both, in terms of cost, can make the same power with the same amount of money. If you can throw me up a price list i'd love to find out how much it ocsts to build a 2jz!

Look, Im not saying the V8 is a weak motor Im saying the 2JZ is guaranteed to make more power for less money and thats just the truth. I'd be glad to give you a price list just give me some hp/tq numbers and I'll match em up. Btw with the V8 still N/A it definitely doesnt have a more broad torque curve.
Show me a N/A Toyota V8 with a torque curve like that
