i may end up dropping it an inch or two, but there are a few things holding me back.
i'm an old man now (31) and i've had nothing but lowered raced out cars (well besides my F-150) that rode great but super stiff and i'm at the point in my life now (have some back issues from motorcycle accident) that i'm really enjoying the supple ride that i get with the stock set up and i know if i drop it i'm going to go all the way and put stiffer suspension a full kit and 20's.
and the thing with me is i can't just do looks and not have the power to back it up so if i go that route i'm going to have to do a full exhaust, headers, ECU tune or w/e other power upgrades are available to me.
once i start i just can't stop (same way with tattoos).
on my audi i started out with just some black rims and ended up with a K04 turbo and every other available performance mod i could do and it is great fun to drive, but it is nowhere near comfortable.
oh not to mention the maintenance is absurd (in the sense that **** keeps blowing up in my engine and the repairs are killing me).
so as much as i look at all the bagged GS3's with the full kits riding on 20's and drool, the angel on my shoulder (who looks and sounds strikingly similar to my fiance) is making a convincing case to just enjoy the sophisticatedly simple and luxurious vehicle that is the stock GS430.
honestly tho if the rims that came with the car (which was a major factor in me buying this specific car) weren't such a damn fine match i would def be doing a total overhaul (as if i got new shoes they'd obv be 20's and then i'd have to drop it at which point all the dominos topple).
i would guess tho that if the past is any indication of the future, i'll enjoy the hell out of it stock (minus the few cosmetic upgrades already underway) for a year or two and then become inspired to go to town on it and replace everything.
and ideally in 2 years i'll be able to turn this into a project car and get a 460 for the daily driver.
damn this post started out as a 2 sentence reply wtf i got to stop posting at 4am.....
now godamnit someone tell me if my stock DRL (9005) bulbs are 55w, 60w or 65w so i don't have to pull them out before installing the new ones!
