i think my 06' gs300's tranny is going out. check vsc light came on and car won't shift pass 3rd. tried a transmission fluid flush and same problem came back within 30 miles. has anybody else had this problem? it only has 94,288 miles!
Does it not even shift using S mode?
Might be worth seeing if you can get the transmission out and the torque converter removed.
At least that way, you''ll be able to get the full amount of old oil out, and refilled with fresh oil.
There's another thread(s) running here where a member had an issue that a change (tranny in situ, so not full fluid amount) of fluid seems to have cured it, and in it or another thread, talk about possibly being one or two cheaper parts needing replaced rather than a full transmission swapout as would be the case when you take it to a dealership.
It/they were recent-ish threads, so have a search or look deeper than page 1, and you'll find it/them easily enough.
Hopefully there's help and advice in it/those which helps get you sorted.
06 GS430 reaching 150K miles now... Bought it used with 136K miles..... looked at service records and see no tranny flush or replacement, so I assume still original tranny with original World Standard fluid sloshing in it.... still shifts fine.....(knocking... no...destroying wood.....)
GS450h - 182,000 kms no gearbox problems with the CVT, i have elected to have the oil service done and changed which is $250 at lexus, pretty happy with that. Done in coming weeks
