Door Panel Removal
Please give me detailed step by step directions for removing the inside Passenger side door panel on a 2008 GS350 AWD. It seems the seat belt pierced the panel and i need to remove it to either repair or replace it. Thanks in advance for the assist!

2008 GS350 Door Panel Removal
Still looking for detail on the proper way to remove front passenger side door panel due to puncture from seat belt. Also looking to buy new or gently used for panel for tan colored interior. Only reply on the removal referred to a PDF but none was attached, thanks.

If you go to page one on the thread it shows the panel being pulled off, but it is not too detailed. There is a cover behind the door handle that needs to be removed with a small pick-like tool and it has a screw behind it that needs to be removed. Use the same tool to remove the light on the bottom of the door and there is a screw there that needs to be that needs to be removed as well. Next, you need to pull the door panel off starting at the bottom as it is held on by plastic clips. I prefer to use a door panel puller tool for this, but you can pull it off by hand if you don't have one, but you risk breaking the plastic clips or possibly damaging the clip attachment points if you are not careful. The good news is that the clips are cheap and even with a puller you can break a few because they are plastic. Once you have the door panel completely free you just push it up from the window lip and away.
One other thing I want to mention is that I think that you will have to unplug the window switches/locks, the light at the bottom to fee up the door panel for removal.
I hope that this helps.

I had a tear in mine too. A new panel is $2100. My Lexus dealer had a vendor (dr. vinyl) who was able to repair the tears. Looks like new. I would recommend that path. I can post pics if you would like to see before and after.
