Finally went with Continental ExtremeContact DWS

As much as I plan to buy Continental DW to replace my stock, I would still prefer something from Michelin, mostly for what the brand is known for. But reading various reviews, I can't justify the additional cost and (potentially) shorter tread life.
Also, possibly due to cost, Michelin PS2 isn't listed as a best-seller on Tire Track. Continental DW, DWS, and Michelin A/S Plus are listed, each with average user review score of 8.9, 8.6, 8.3, respectively. Link: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...ype=bestseller
I don't think there's a "right answer" in this case. Some people prefer superior handling, some prefer softer ride -- to each his own. So long as it's better than the stock Yokohama ADVAN A10F I have on, I'm happy.

Getting Continental DW installed this coming Fri. Will report back should I notice anything. Also worth noting that the stock Yokohama Advan has been worn down to 3/32 rear, 4/32 front and getting a bit loud and unstable. They're not all dead yet, but it's been about 23.5k miles ...

Lexus Fanatic
I have them on my LS and love them. I cant believe the 540 tread wear rating AND available in 245/30/22 and 295/25/22..........25 profile tire and a high treadwear rating???????????? Its unheard of.

I just ordered my set today! 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 for 07 GS350 AWD for the Northwest (Washington State) weather. cant wait to get them mounted! These are replacing my FK452s (5/32nd tread) that suck in rain and snow.
I even got their promotional iFlip camcorder!

For those who had the stock Yokohama Advan A10F, when did you get them replaced? I just measured about 5/32" front and 4/32" back and am wondering if I'm jumping the gun on replacement a bit too early. I have about 23.5k miles on them.

If you don't need the cold weather/snow capability of the tire, go w/ the DW (Dry, Wet).
I personally went with the DWS for the occasional times I might encounter snow/freezing temps. I'm sure DW handles better in the dry, but it was a compromise that was easy to make.

DWS is a must for sub-freezing weather since the material for DW hardens and loses a bit of stickiness. That said, since you're in Texas, I'm not sure how much of that you need and how often. DW actually has better wet traction in addition to dry.

I just picked up a set of DWS last week for myself and Michelin LTX MS2 for my wife and what a difference in ride quality for both cars! DWS is too soft for spirited driving or any performance cars but it suits this car perfect. Supple, quiet, smooth, and lack of feel. Michelin on my wife's GX is also 200% improvement over original tires. Now, both cars drive like it should have from the factory. Lexus needs to stop sourcing crappy tires on some of their cars.
