rld14: thank you for your insight from the dealer's perspective. I've just purchased a CPO '06 GS430 (with 45k) for about $26,500. I also bought my wife an '06 GS300 AWD (non-CPO) for $24,000. My credit union booked her car at $24,200. So, we weren't that much off. Other than having to replace the tires, filters, and do an oil change, the car runs great! Of course I would prefer to have a CPO car, but the price was good so I bought it.
Exactly. That's the spread... the basic (no brakes, no tires... it happens, just took an IS250 on trade with recent brakes and very fresh Potenzas! ) CPO service that we do costs me about $500. That's wiper blades, cabin and air filters, PCV (iirc), oil change, balance and rotate tires, 2 hours labor for the inspection, etc. The cheapest tires we use on a GS are the 17" Pilot Sport A/Ss, I can count on those costing me about $800/set with install, then figure if the car's brake pads aren't above 5mm...etc... How many miles on the GS300?
